China's digital service exports account for half of the service exports
The digitization process of China's service trade is accelerating. According to data from the Ministry of Commerce, in 2022, the import and export volume of digitalizable services in China reached 2.51 trillion yuan, an increase of 7.8%, ranking fifth in the world and reaching a new historical high. Among them, the proportion of digitalizable service exports to service exports is nearly 50%. In the first half of this year, the import and export scale of digitalizable services in China increased by 12.3%, 3.8 percentage points higher than the overall growth rate of service import and export.
Li Jun, Director of the International Service Trade Research Institute of the Research Institute of the Ministry of Commerce, said: Through digitization and digital trade, we have promoted the development of traditional trade in goods. However, in turn, it has opened up new space for the development of our service trade, such as in the field of cultural trade, including games, anime, and using digital means to transform and enhance traditional cultural and tourism products. After China's technological level improves to a certain extent, we not only need to import foreign technology and intellectual property, but also export our technology and intellectual property.
